Len Cook´s catenary arch kiln 2

The damper on this kiln is located at the top of the chimney. It consists of a kiln shelf mounted in an angle iron frame and is adjusted from ground level by means of a wire.

This is the hinge arrangement used by Len. The kiln shelf damper is stored elsewhere when not in use. A stop mechanism is needed to prevent the damper from flipping right over past the wide open position.

End opposite to chimney. The aperture 3 is a mousehole, the ports labeled 2 are for primary air and those marked 1 are for secondary air.
