The Ian Jones anagama 1

Ian uses a digital pyrometer and flame observation holes on top of the chamber to help decide when to stoke. The flame behaviour at the observation holes varies with the amount of air entering the kiln at the front. He aims to stoke again just before the pyrometer reaches its peak temperature from the previous stoke. In recent firings he has been adding a small amount of water per stoke and thinks this improves the colours.
