'We have fired this kiln in total a dozen times over the last four years and there is no sign of cracking or sagging even though not a single piece of iron or bolt was used to tie in the structure. Because the vaults are all parabolic and the groundplan is more or less oval the kiln has a high degree of rigidity.'
