Sergei's
long throat Bourry box kiln. The extended throat
chamber measures
35 cubic feet, the back chamber is 12 cubic feet. A
similiar kiln is
described in more detail here
. Sergei likes this kiln for subtleties in ash
deposit,
ecological value with low timber consumption and
good time value
in having average firings to 1320C completed in
less than 50
hours. However, he plans to build an anagama/ogama
style kiln. Note added July 2012:
the anagama has been built.
